Where we begin.

What if we were to begin from a new location?
When you set-out from a new location, you ask different questions.
When you ask different questions, you go to different places.

Welcome to newlocation
a process focused community experience for artists and creative practitioners.

It’s all the places we’ve been
It’s none of the places we’ve been

A place that is new
A place that is familiar because it’s what we’ve longed for
A place that is elusive because we haven’t been there yet

Motivated by the desire to be responsive to our current social and political realities, newlocation supports and facilitates a new paradigm of interaction where diverse thinking, other approaches and distinct ways of being in the world are centralized rather than considered peripheral.

Along with an increased recognition of racial, socio-economic, and other inequities comes a sense of isolation, loneliness and feelings of helplessness. There is a critical need for alternative approaches in how we relate to one another and envision better futures – this is where newlocation begins.

Deeply rooted in creative process, practice, and inquiry, newlocation inspires participants to contemplate, connect, investigate and implement what’s possible through alternative conversations that reimagine our shared future. It is a place where communal wisdom is generated. It breaks through patterns of repetition and offers the freedom to develop without preconceived notions or predetermined outcomes.

We believe that as artists and creative practitioners there is a uniqueness to the way we see the world and with that comes tremendous transformative power. It allows us to break through all the isms and helps us to see clearly into the heart of the matter – renegotiating relationships with ourselves, each other and the earth.

The invitation.
